Terms & Conditions

Nobody likes the small print. However, its your responsibility to read our terms and conditions before booking or taking advantage of any promotions or offers. No refunds will be offered for any orders or bookings made in error. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any persons we believe to be over intoxicated or underage. We strive to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our guests. The Ocean Club is proud to support "Think 25" We ask you not to be offended if our team ask for proof of age. If a valid ID cannot be presented no service will be given.

BE KIND - We operate a non tolerance policy on any guest that displays any type of aggressive behaviour towards our team. We will not tolerate any type of verbal or physical abuse. We can get extremely busy at certain times and ask all guests to be patient when waiting to order at the bar . Please also note that our cocktails are completely hand made and  you may experience a wait time.

Cocktail offer only open to anyone over the age of 18. Our Policy supports "Think 25" so please dont be offended if we ask for ID before ordering. No service will be given without proof of age.

Both cocktails must be the same and subject to availability. We reserve the right to withdraw any cocktail from the offer without notice. No alternative will be offered. Offer excludes sharing jugs and premium cocktails. Please note that orders cannot be changed or cancelled once transaction is complete. It is your responsibility to check your order is correct and any order made in error will not be refunded. We have the right to withdraw the promotion at anytime without notice. All Terms and conditions include any pre bookings. Promotion is only available between advertised times and will not be offered outside of these times. We also reserve the right to refuse offer or service to anyone we believe to be over intoxicated. No refunds will be offered or given to anyone who cannot show a valid ID on request. Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.

Loyalty Cards

Buy 9 get your 10th on us

Offer entitles card holder to one free hot drink after 9 purchased hot drinks. Loyalty card must display 9 full stamps to claim free hot drink. On claiming free hot drink your completed loyalty card will be retained. Loyalty offer valid on any hot drink. It is the customers responsibility to ask for a stamp on any valid hot drink purchase. Stamps will not be given after purchase without a valid proof of purchase and after 7 days of original transaction. All loyalty cards remain the property of The Ocean Club. We take no responsibility for Lost or stolen loyalty cards. Completed stamps will not be replaced. We reserve the right to withdraw our loyalty offer at anytime without notice. No cash alternative will be offered. We will retain any loyalty card we believe to be fraudulent in any way and free hot drink will be refused. free hot drink excludes any extras and syrups will be charged. Offer excludes any hot drink which includes alcohol. Cold drinks and all other alcoholic beverages. Stamp will only be offered when purchasing full price hot drinks and can not be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

 

Bookings & Reservations

The Ocean Club is currently unable to accept bookings for food. However we are happy to accept reservations for drinks and cocktails. Reservations will only be confirmed and valid once all deposits are paid. A deposit of £5.00 per person is required. All deposits are non refundable should you cancel your booking or your party is a no show. However, your deposit is fully redeemable by form of voucher against drinks purchases on the date of your booking. All guests will receive a voucher to the value of £5.00. No voucher will be given for guests that do not show and individual deposit will be lost. Vouchers are non transferable and only valid for date of booking. No cash alternative will be offered. Whilst we attempt to make every effort to seat your party in a chosen location, ie indoors or outdoors, please accept that your request may at times not be possible and we have the right to move your party without prior notice. Tables will only be held for up to 10 minutes after the start time of your booking, if you arrive after this time your party will be classed as a no show and no deposit drink vouchers or refunds will be offered. Anybody deemed underage will be subject to an ID check. If a valid ID cannot be presented then the individual will be asked to leave and no refund will be offered. All bookings and reservations will be instantly cancelled to over intoxicated individuals and groups. in this circumstance all drinks vouchers will become invalid and no refunds given. We reserve the right to cancel your booking with as much notice as possible. in this extremely rare event all paid deposits will be fully refunded by original method of payment. 

Private Venue Hire

The Ocean Club is available for private hire. Any booking for private hire will only be accepted and confirmed once the full deposit has been paid and confirmed. All minimum bar spends must be met. In the event that the minimum bar spend is not met any shortfall will be deducted from the deposit. It is the responsibility of the primary to settle any further shortfall beyond the deposit at the end of the event. Once your booking is confirmed you agree to these terms. All food and deposits must be paid in advance 10 days before the date of your event. Should you choose to cancel your booking all deposits and food are non refundable. However, we will offer you the opportunity to re book your event within 30 days pending availability. Please note we charge a premium minimum spend for weekend hire and peak trading days and times. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any guest over intoxicated, believed to be under the influence or in possession of illegal drugs. Any person within the party seen to be supplying or buying alcohol to underage guests will be removed. proof of age ID may be required, so we ask that anybody that looks under the age of 25 bring some form of valid ID. No alcohol or food purchased off of the premises is to be brung onto or consumed within the venue or its outdoor space. Last orders are half hour before closing time and the venue must be vacated by closing. A fowling charge of £50.00 will be added for any vomiting within the premises and the person removed. Please always help us to maintain a fun and safe space for guests. In some instances where underage children are present, we ask for you to enjoy yourselves responsibly. The Ocean Club does not take any responsibility for any guests. Over capacity will not be permitted so please ensure number of guests do not exceed agreed number. We have the right to refuse entry to any guests that take us above maximum capacity. All personal property and belongings is the sole responsibility of the owner. We accept no liability for lost, damaged or stolen items.

Door Staff

Whilst visiting us we aim to provide a fun and safe space to give everyone the best time. Your safety is paramount and at the Ocean Club we have safety measures in place to ensure your time with us is one to remember for all the right reasons. Our friendly SIA trained door staff are here for your and our teams safety. The Ocean Club operates zero tolerance policy's for drugs and anti-social behaviour. Door staff have the right to refuse entry to anyone over intoxicated, thought to be under the influence or in possession of any illegal drugs and anyone under the age of 18 or persons that cannot provide a valid ID on request. We are proud to support "Think 25". Please note that we do uphold a dress code. Entry may also be refused due to maintaining a safe capacity. We reserve the right to search any persons before entry. We also reserve the right to remove any guests for the following, but not limited to standing on furniture, Vaping or smoking inside the premises, over intoxication, any type of verbal or physical abuse towards guests or staff, bringing any food or alcohol onto the premises not purchased from the Ocean Club and anyone found to be taking any type of illegal substances within the premises. The Ocean Club retains the right to refuse entry to anyone without reason. Due to the size of the venue we sadly do not accept large groups of males, stag or hen parties without prior permission. Please note that The Ocean Club operates 24hr CCTV which covers both internal and external areas of the venue at all times.Personal belongings are your own sole responsibility. The Ocean Club accepts no liability for personal belongings that have been lost, damaged or Stolen.

Group Bookings

The Ocean Club is happy to accept group bookings. However, due to our space restrictions we are sadly unable to offer our full menu for individual orders. The Ocean Club offers Buffet style options for all group bookings. All food will be pre agreed with the primary. The cost for our group buffet is set at £19.95 per head, please note that cost is subject to change without prior notice. All food must be paid in full and in advance. Your booking will only be confirmed once all outstanding balances are paid in full. The balance must be paid no later than 10 days before your booking. All deposits and prepaid food are non refundable should you fail to show for your booking. In the event of cancellation you will be offered the opportunity to re book. Any re booking is subject to availability and must be within 30 days of your original booking. If we have to cancel your booking for reasons beyond our control you will be given as much notice as possible and a full refund of any moneys paid to the Ocean Club. We reserve the right to cancel any booking instantly should your group become over intoxicated, if we require proof of age and a valid ID cannot be produced, bringing alcohol to the venue which has not been purchased on the premises, or if we believe you or your party to be under the influence or in possesion of any illegal substances. In any of these instances your event will be finished and no refunds given. Please note that due to the space restrictions in our kitchen we cannot guarantee a nut free or gluten free environment. Any dietary requirements should always be pre agreed before booking. 

Bluelight, NHS & Student Discount

10% off Food & Drink 

The Ocean Club is proud to continue offering a 10% discount to Blue Light which includes Police service / Ambulance service / Fire service. NHS staff and University Students. All discounts are only offered on full price food and drinks. It is your responsibility to make our team aware of  your discount at time of ordering. We are unable to process any discount after the transaction has been finalised and no refunds will be given. To receive your discount a valid ID card must be produced. No discount will be given without a valid ID (see below for accepted forms of ID). Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any promotions or offers. Discount cannot be used to purchase tickets for any events.

Accepted forms of ID for all Blue Light services - Valid Blue Light Card accompanied with a photo ID.

Accepted forms of ID for University Students - Verified UniDays account with Photo /Valid student ID card with photo issued from your university.

We reserve the right to withdraw this offer at anytime without notice. Only valid forms of ID will be accepted. Discount cannot be used with loyalty card. All age restrictions apply, we may ask for further proof of ID to verify your age and identity. We apologise that we cannot offer discount to anyone under the age of 18. this includes School and college student cards. However we are pleased to extend our offer to all teachers that hold a valid ITIC card.

ID'S & Age Restrictions

It is never our intention to offend our guests. However, if you're lucky enough to look under 25 we will ask for some form of ID to prove your age (please see below for accepted forms of ID). Alcohol will not be served to any person who cannot produce a valid form of ID upon request. This also includes persons that have not been served directly. Should any person be found who we believe to be under 18 drinking alcohol internally or externally on the premises and a valid form of ID cannot be given, you will be asked to leave and drinks will be confiscated with no refund given. In some circumstances the whole group will be asked to leave.

During the day, everybody’s welcome. Due to licensing restrictions, under 18s are only allowed on to our premises until 9pm every day. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult after 6pm. 

If you are buying alcohol or entering after 9pm. The Ocean Club is proud to follow the "Think 25" Policy so if you look under 25, we will ask you for ID.

We reserve the right to ask anyone to provide ID. If we ask you to provide ID and you aren't able to, we are legally obligated to refuse sale of alcohol, irrespective of your age.

We check IDs for validity and have ways of ensuring IDs are not false. It’s a criminal offence to use false or borrowed ID to gain entry to licensed premises or to buy alcohol. The maximum penalty for this is a £5,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison. If you are caught using false ID, your ID may be seized and you may be reported to the police.

We can accept Passports, even if out of date. Driving Licenses (including Provisionals) and proof of age cards that bear the PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) hologram, including BRPs (Biometric Residence Permits) and Citizen Cards. No photos of your ID will be accepted. We may ask for further proof of ID on occasion.

Lost Property & Personal Belongings

The Ocean Club does not accept any liability or responsibility for our guests personal belongings or property. Any personal items or belongings brought on to the premises externally or internally remain the responsibility of the owner. We are not responsible for looking after your personal belongings and accept no liability for lost, damaged or stolen items. Any personal items or belongings you bring are done so solely at your own risk.

Lost Property -We will endeavour to return any lost property to its original owner. This may include checking pockets or looking inside of wallets and purses. We take no liability for missing items including cash or condition of your returned items. All items must be collected in person. A valid form of ID must be shown to show proof of ownership. In some circumstances we may be required to ask you questions about your item or ask for a description to ensure we are returning your item to the right person. We will hold lost property for a maximum of 30 days.

Dog Policy

We love Dogs! We welcome dogs at The Ocean Club.However, we ask all owners to be responsible in making the Ocean Club enjoyable for all of our guests. We can only accept well behaved, friendly dogs. All dogs must be kept on a lead and we ask all owners to ensure that your dog does not foul in any outdoor or indoor space. We also kindly ask all owners to be responsible on warmer days. Smaller dogs are permitted inside in the designated space at the front of the venue. On an evening we can get extremely loud and busy. An environment that is not suitable for any dog and can cause stress to your pet. For this reason and for the health and safety for both your dog and our guests no dogs are welcome inside after 9pm. However we are happy for you to sit outside. The Ocean Club accepts no responsibility for your dog. The owner is liable for any damage caused by your dog. We offer fresh water and dog treats for your dog, the owner accepts any treats at their own risk. The Ocean Club accepts no liability. No dogs are permitted to lay or sit on any furniture.

Zero Tollerence

Our staff have the right to work in a safe environment. The safety of our staff is paramount, to ensure this we operate a non tolerance policy to protect not only our team but also all of our guests. Any form of verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated. in the event that we believe any guest to be displaying any type of antisocial behaviour towards any staff member, no service will be given and you will be removed from the venue. In some instances you will be reported to the police. Our staff have the right to refuse service to anyone we believe to be underage, over intoxicated, under the influence of any illegal substances, displaying any type of anti-social behaviour towards them or other guests either verbally or physically. We also will not over serve anyone, so please do not be offended if we refuse service for this reason. This is for your safety as well as ours. We ask you to drink and enjoy yourself responsibly. The Ocean Club accepts no liability for anyone who becomes over intoxicated.

DRUGS and all other illegal substances - No entry will be permitted to anyone we believe to be under the influence of any illegal substance. We operate a zero tolerance on anybody that attempts to bring any drugs or illegal substance on to the premises either within our outdoor area or inside the premises. This includes all legal highs. In the event of anyone found attempting to bring such substances in to the venue or caught taking them, all substances will be confiscated and handed over to the police. Please do not ruin yours or others experience by not respecting our policy. We reserve the right to search anyone at anytime.

 

The Ocean Club reserves the right to ban any person or persons from the venue without notice for any reason we deem unsociable including, but not limited to the fore mentioned reasons above.

The Ocean Club accepts no liability for any person that comes to harm for being under the influence of any drug or illegal substance

Smoking & Vaping

We do not permit any smoking or vaping inside the venue. All guests are welcome to smoke and vape in our outdoor area. Any person found smoking or vaping inside the premises will be asked to leave and may incur a ban from the venue. We reserve the right to remove any drinks with no refunds given.

Drinks & Food

All drinks and food are your responsibility after you have been served. The Ocean club is not liable to replace any drinks or food that have been spilt or have gone missing. For your and other guests safety, It is your responsibility to ensure your drinks and food remain in your possession at all times. We ask you to think responsibly and never leave your drink or food unattended. We do not take any liability for drinks or food left unattended. Any drink or food found to be unattended will be removed and disposed of without replacement or refund.

In the event that you take a served drink which has not been paid for or ordered by yourself, you are liable to pay for the drink in full. We ask all guests to wait until your order has been served before removing drinks from the bar to prevent such situations from arising.

Once your order has been poured or served we are unable to change your drink. Refunds will not be given on anything ordered in error. If you are ever unsure on what you've ordered please ask our staff to relay your order back to you before payment.

Cocktails -We are proud to serve hand mixed cocktails. Because of this, our cocktails take a little longer to prepare. We ask you to be patient especially around busier times. In most circumstances we will ask you to take a seat and we will bring your order to you. We ask that you do not crowd the bar to allow other guests to order. No refunds will be offered or any gesture of good will for waiting times. Our staff will always notify you of any wait time when ordering.

Please remember we operate a "Think 25" policy. Please read our ID and age restriction policy for more information. We ask all guests to drink and enjoy themselves responsibly. 

Fowling Charge

The Ocean Club reserves the right to charge a fixed fee fouling charge of £50.00. Our staff work hard to bring you a great time, not to clear up after any guests that drink too much. Any fowling, including vomiting or urinating in public areas will be charged to cover any loss of business, cost of cleaning equipment and cost of time. We ask you to be responsible for yourself. Anyone found to be fouling will also be removed from the premises. All drinks will also be removed with no refunds. Please drink responsibly. 

CCTV and Photography

The Ocean Club operates 24 hour CCTV for our staff and guests safety. By entering the premises either internally or externally you agree to its use and terms & conditions. We hold all footage for up to 30 days. periodically we will review footage in the event of any incidences or to review our procedures and operations. We will pass on any relevant footage or images to the police or if requested. Only management are permitted to review footage for data protection. For this reason we are unable to show any other persons any recorded footage.

Photography - On occasion we will take photos and videos of our events and the venue to create content for use on our social media platforms including Facebook, instagram and our website. By entering the venue you agree to the use and give permission for any images which may include yourself. If for any reason you are uncomfortable with any image of yourself on any of our platforms please speak to a member of management.

Promotions, Offers and Events

From time to time The Ocean Club will run events, promotions and offers. Whilst we take every effort to ensure all advertising is correct at time of launch, we are only human and errors can sometimes occur. While we will make every effort to put right any mistakes and communicate any changes in a reasonable time we reserve the right to pause, stop or make changes to any events, promotions or offers without notice.

The Ocean Club accepts no liability for any third party events and all enquiries should be directed towards the events organisers. The Ocean Club is not liable for any monetary loss due to cancellation, rescheduling, accommodation costs or travel expenses.

Menus and Pricing

While we try to maintain well priced products, due to inflation and rising costs from our suppliers it may at times be necessary for us to implement price increases across our food and drinks menu. We ask all guests to be aware that these prices can change without notice and we retain the right to change prices which may vary from our menu prices. We ask all guests to use menus as a guide. 

Where any guests have pre booked we will endeavour to inform you of any price increases. Your booking or reservation does not guarantee any prices at time of booking.

Availability - Sometimes due to seasonal produce and suppliers availability,  not all of our menu may be available. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We reserve the right to stop food service at anytime.

Intellectual Property

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, all social media platforms and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved. You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal reference and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to material posted on our site. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged. You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so or written permission from The Ocean Club Exeter LTD or our partners. If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our request, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Dress Code

The Ocean Club operates a strict dress code and we ask all guests to adhere to the following. Whist we offer a relaxed and casual feel we ask that men where a shirt or t-shirt at all times during the day and night. For health and safety reasons footwear must be worn at all times. The Ocean Club accepts no liability for accidents caused to guests in bare feet. No Hoodies, Trackies or Flip-flops are permitted after 9pm and entry will be refused.

Mothers Day

Free Coffee Offer

Offer only valid on March 10th 2024. Only one free hot drink per customer. Offer available until 12pm on day of promotion. Free hot drink excludes hot chocolate & mocha. Offer has no cash alternative. Mums must be present at time of purchase. Value of free hot drink must not exceed value of purchased hot drink. Loyalty stamps cannot be collected for this promotion,  Mothers day free hot drink promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. The Ocean Club reserves the right to cancel promotion at any time. Offer also valid for take-away.

Offer is subject to availability. The Ocean Club reserves the right to cancel offer at anytime and without notice. Offer only available to adults 18 years or older. Offer only available when purchasing 2x 175ml glasses of Prosecco in one transaction, to receive the rest of the bottle. Offer only available Fridays between the hours of 4pm - 8pm. We will not hold or reserve drinks for pre purchase. We ask all guests to enjoy and drink this offer responsibly. The Ocean Club operates a "Think 25" Policy. We may at any time check IDs when being served or if we believe somebody on the premises either internally or externally is drinking Alcohol.
